Is an installation by artist Thiago Antonio in which I worked for the set design space created at Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains.
The installation is the fruit of research into cosmological narratives and a study of scientific phenomena of the universe, which tell the story of the origin of our creation from a mystical and fictional point of view.
The story is told in a kind of mechanical theater, in which mobiles seem to orbit in space, in a choreography of movement and light. The use of blown glass refers to the alchemical process of transmuting matter.
Thanks to glass and lenses, we can imagine and see the immense and the infinitesimal. Hermes Trismegistus wrote: "What is below is like what is above". The discovery of telescopes and microscopes affirms humanity's intrinsic need to understand its origin, its genesis.
